CHT was established in 1962, then known as Christian Healthcare Trust, as an independent healthcare trust with the ability to focus all energy and resources into caring for residents, their families and communities.
With no other demands on funds, CHT continually reinvests all surpluses back into facilities and services and holds an enviable reputation as having innovative, high quality locations throughout Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.

Bruce Waldin
Bruce is an experienced marketing professional with a focus on strategic marketing and communications development for non-profit organisations. Prior to setting up his own marketing consultancy in 2011, Bruce headed the marketing and communications functions for World Vision New Zealand and Heart Foundation, and served on the Boards of a number of charitable organisations. Before his move to the non-profit sector, Bruce spent 12 years in senior marketing and management roles in the agribusiness sector
Max Robins BA, MMgt, FNIZM, AFCHSM, MHRINZ
Chief Executive
Max has been Chief Executive of CHT since 1999 and a Board member since 2013. Prior to working for the Trust he was employed as Chief Executive of Taranaki Crown Health Enterprise and Taranaki Area Health Board. Max was appointed Human Resource Manager of Taranaki Area Health Board after working for Olex Cables as Personnel Officer. Max is actively involved in the aged care sector and is currently Deputy Chairman of the New Zealand Aged Care Association and a member of the InterRAI New Zealand Governance Board.
Raewyn Lovett ONZM
Raewyn Lovett is a partner of national law firm Duncan Cotterill, specialising in corporate, commercial and employment law.
Raewyn is also an experienced director and is the Chair of Aktive Auckland Sport and Recreation, Chair of Quotable Value Limited, Chair of Dunedin Venues Management Limited and a trustee of Medicine Mondiale.
Graeme Edmond
Chairman
Graeme’s career in the health sector in the UK and in New Zealand includes holding CEO and MD positions in the international pharmaceutical industry, with Midland Regional Health Authority and Auckland District Health Board as well as Managing Director of Specsavers NZ Ltd.
Graeme is an experienced company director, having held directorships in New Zealand and internationally in both private and publically listed companies.
Dr Lynne Lane
Former Mental Health Commissioner at the Health and Disability Commission, Dr Lynne Lane has held a number of senior positions within the Public Sector, including Chair Commissioner of the Mental Health Commission, Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health and Acting Chief Executive of the Central RHA.
In the private sector Dr Lane owned and developed an innovative and financially successful general practice before specialising in Public Health Medicine. Since specialising, she established and managed a multi-million dollar company which achieved the goal of significantly reducing the costs of medicines in New Zealand.
She has also undertaken a wide range of consulting assignments for Government funded organisations, the World Health Organisation, the World Bank, NGOs, and private companies.
Dr Lane is currently a Management Consultant to ACC, and holds several directorships, including Board Member of Healthcare Holdings Limited, Managing Director of Affordable Healthcare and Zygal International Limited, and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Turanga for Research into Tobacco Control, University of Auckland.
Robyn Beguely
Robyn has over 25 years senior Human Resource Management experience working for Fisher and Paykel Ltd, Auckland District Health Board and NZ Dairy Foods Ltd. Originally she qualified as a Registered Nurse with experience in both the UK and New Zealand.
Businesspeople Ltd, a Human Resource consultancy business, was founded by Robyn in 2007, where she works closely with small to medium sized companies in the “for profit” and “not for profit” sectors.
Stuart Williams
Stuart Williams is a Chartered Accountant by training and is currently the Head of Equities for Nikko Asset Management New Zealand Limited. He has worked across all disciplines of investment management for 19 years and for the last nine years he has worked in the equities area performing analysis on companies listed on both the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges.
In addition to his general stock research responsibilities, he has been the primary analyst for the healthcare sector in Australasia, the primary analyst for the aged care sector in Australasia and a portfolio manager for various investments funds. He has previously held board positions for both Cycling NZ and Bike NZ.

Carol Ropati RGON, BHSc Nursing, Post Grad Diploma
Area Manager
Carol has worked for CHT since 2008 when she joined the Trust as Quality Manager. She was appointed to the Operation Support Manager position in February 2011 and Area Manager in 2012.
Carol is responsible for CHT Waiuku, CHT Glynavon, CHT Bernadette, CHT Acacia Park and CHT Highfield. Carol is also the Trust’s Quality Manager and Privacy Officer.
Carol is a registered nurse with extensive experience in nurse management and clinical roles. Before joining CHT Carol was Nurse Manager at Pacificare Trust Centre and Hospital. Previous roles included working as a Public Health Nurse and Case mix Educator with Counties Manuaku District Health Board and Clinical lecturer for Manukau Institute of Technology.
Veronica Martin
Area Manager
Veronica joined CHT in January 2018 as an Area Manager and has responsibility for CHT Lansdowne, CHT Royal Oak, CHT St Christophers, and CHT Waiuku. Veronica is also responsible for quality management for the Trust.
Veronica is a registered nurse and trained in Glasgow, Scotland before moving to New Zealand in 2001. Veronica worked as a MacMillan nurse specialist in the UK and has worked in management roles in New Zealand, Scotland and England. Her specialised areas of experience are: Long Term Conditions, Palliative Care and Oncology. Veronica is an auditor and has worked with several organisations in the aged care sector and DHB focusing on quality.
Liz Webb RN, Dip. Sc. BSc. (Hons) Health Studies
Area Manager
Liz was appointed as Area Manager in February 2012. She joined CHT in 2006 as manager of St Margaret’s Hospital and Rest Home and was appointed as Operation Support Manager in 2011. Liz is responsible for CHT Onewa, CHT Halldene, CHT St Johns, CHT Amberlea and CHT St Christophers.
Liz trained as a registered Nurse in Walton Hospital Liverpool and has a varied career in the health sector. She arrived in NZ in 1980 to work in neurosciences and subsequently was employed as duty manager at Auckland Public Hospital.
She has experience in general Intensive care, neuro-intensive care, paediatrics general surgery, medicine & sterile services and most recently aged Care.
Leanne Rudd
Property Manager
Leanne joined CHT in August 2016 in the new role of Property Manager. Leanne is responsible for maintaining all of the CHT Facilities in Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato, along with working on capital projects and compliance.
Previously Leanne worked for Air New Zealand in a variety of Operations and Service Delivery roles where she established expertise in Facilities Management, Operations Management and Project Work.
Stuart Manning RN, BN, MMgt (Health Management)
Area Manager
Stuart was appointed as an Area Manager in September 2013 and has responsibility for CHT Lansdowne, CHT Royal Oak, CHT St Margarets, CHT Hillcrest, CHT Peacehaven and CHT Carnavon. Stuart is also responsible for the human resource management function for the Trust.
Stuart is a registered nurse having trained in Cornwall in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 1990. Stuart has extensive clinical and management experience both in New Zealand and abroad, primarily in the areas of oncology, palliative care and community nursing. Stuart was a commissioning project manager in the development of the acute services at Waitakere Hospital and prior to moving to CHT was the national quality manager at ABI Rehabilitation.
Stana Pezic CA BCom DipBus
Chief Financial Officer
Stana Pezic joined CHT as Chief Financial Officer in September 2016. Previously she was Chief Financial Officer of Stevenson Group, Metro Water, and Whitcoulls Group. She has extensive experience in financial management, general management, business planning and strategy, process change and information systems spanning a broad range of industries.
